Like most Americans on Thanksgiving, Terrell Owens ate bird. But instead of eating turkey he settled on eating crow.

While speaking to reporters in Cincinnati, TO had called Darrelle Revis “average”, overrated and a one-year wonder.

Revis responded to Terrell Owens banter with his defensive prowess, limiting Owens to just 3 receptions for 17 yards and no touchdowns in the Jets 26-10 victory.

Owens trash talk was in response to Revis’s off-season remark about Owens being a “slouch”. Owens could only laugh when asked about the “average” remarks by reporters post-game. “Nobody said anything when he called me a slouch,” Owens said.

Coming into week 12 of the NFL season, Owens was among the league leaders in catches (62) and receiving yards (897). But against Revis, he tied a season low for number of catches this season and had his lowest receiving yardage.

“I said what I said to fire our team up,” Owens said. “I wanted his ‘A’ game. I’m not a slouch.”

TO then conceded to a fact that all football fans already know.

“Despite me calling him average – real talk – the guy’s pretty good,” Owens said.

Speaking to Cincinnati reporters, Bengals wide receiver Terrrell Owens ripped Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis as overrated and a one-year wonder.

“No disrespect, [Revis] has only done one thing for one year.” Owens said. “You talk about shutdown corners, you need to repeatedly do it, year in and year out, I think he did it one year, and everybody made a lot of hoopla about it. I think, you know, he started feeling himself, then he wanted to come out and say that I’m a slouch”.

Owens was referring to Revis’s use of the word “slouch” to describe both Owens and Randy Moss during an off-season TV interview. TO never forgot that diss, and when Moss beat Revis earlier this season for a touchdown, he couldn’t resist Tweeting “I see Revis Island getting’ exposed. Now that hammy is really hurting”.

Owens added another Tweet yesterday, calling Revis “just an average corner”.

“Everybody has assessed his abilities as far as what he did last year, shutdown corner, this and that”, Owens said. “He did very well last year. But I think I’m looking forward to the challenge, just like he’s looking forward to the challenge”.

Revis will get his chance to respond tomorrow night in the Bengals Jets matchup in the Meadownlands tomorrow night. The Jets plan is for Revis to cover Owens and Cromartie (Jets other corner) on Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco.

Revis said that Owens tweet after that New England game “just put a big chip on my shoulder”. In fact, he [Revis] didn’t even seem to regret that Owens was still pissed about that “slouch” comment.

“At the time, that’s what I felt”, Revis said. “You guys see the same thing. I’m just saying what I see. That’s how I felt, that’s what it is”.

All this trash talk will come to a head tomorrow night in Jersey.

“After the season, around the Super Bowl, so many media people pumping him up, with him up, with him shutting so many people down, he came out and said that I was a slouch, myself and Randy.: Owens said. “You know, I heard it. It’s in the back of my mind”.

Owens seems to have something to prove. Last year in two games against the Jets, Revis held him to 44 yards on 6 catches. This year, TO is among the league leaders in catches (62) and receiving yards (897). It’s just too bad his performance hasn’t impacted the Bengals record (2-8).

The Cincinnati Bengals and their primadona wide receivers travel to the new Meadowlands Stadium to take on the New York Jets in the sole Thanksgiving evening NFL match-up in Week 12.

Fans attending the game may opt to BYOF (bring your own flashlight) after last week’s temporary power outage at the new Meadowlands Stadium in the 3rd quarter of the Giants – Cowboys game.

The Bengals Jets contest is the third of three games being played on Thanksgiving. The first kicks off at 12:30 pm with the New England Patriots visiting the Detroit Lions. Then, in the mid-afternoon 4:15 start; the New Orleans Saints take on Jerry Jones’s Dallas Cowboys in Texas.

BENGALS JETS PREVIEW
Although the New York Jets share the lead with the Patriots in the AFC East they’ve had to pull out last minute wins in their previous 3 games against teams with a combined record of 9-21.

The Jets needed a field goal as time expired in regulation to beat the Detroit Lions (2-8) on Nov 7. They needed an overtime TD pass from Sanchez to Holmes to beat the Cleveland Browns (3-7) 26-20. And last week, the Jets needed 20 4th quarter points, including a touchdown pass with 6 seconds remaining to beat the 4-6 Houston Texans 30-27.

There’s really nothing to talk about on the other side. Going into NFL Week 12, the Bengals are 2-8, having lost their last seven games. Their last win goes all the back to September 26 against the 1-9 Carolina Panthers. The Bengals lack of success against the run has been the contributing factor to their dismal record in 2010.

But the Bengals do have a pair of primadonna wide receivers in Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, but the Jets counter these passing threats with a less obnoxious but super-talented defensive duo in Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie.

BENGALS JETS ANALYSIS
The most glaring statistic is the Lions lack of rushing yards per game. If the Bengals can’t run against the Jets, forget about it. The dynamic defensive duo of Revis and Cromartie are more than enough to stop Ochocinco and Owens in the air.

Injuries shouldn’t be a big factor. The Jets will be without WR Jerricho Cotchery but it shouldn’t make a big difference since the Jets will win this game on the ground.

As for Cincinnati, QB Carson Palmer and the rest of the Bengals offense will be stymied by the Jets defense. However, the Jets defense has given up more points than most analysts and experts expected.

BENGALS JETS GAME PREDICTION
The Bengals will be in for a long night. The Jets rushing attack, lead by Ladainian Tomlinson (153 Att, 692 Yds. 5 TDs) and Shonn Greene (122 Att, 505 Yds, 1 TD), will allow the Jets to dominate the time of possession and give the Jets the points they need to beat the spread.
