Brady Named AP Offensive Player OF The Year
For the second time in 4 seasons, New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady won the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. Brady set an NFL record of 355 consecutive passes without an interception. He received 21 of the 50 votes from a nationwide group of media members who covered the NFL.

- Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen faces an NFL investigation after being arrested during a traffic stop for allegedly assaulting a police office in South Los Angeles. According to the police report, officers used a stun gun to subdue the 6 foot 3 in, 275 pound Griffen during a struggle after he tried to flee.
- With only a few days away, the Super Bowl continues to dominate the football headlines this week.
- The Titans have decided to try to trade QB Vince young instread of releasing him outright, according to league sources. The Titans front office has started its search for a head coach to replace recently fired Jeff Fisher by interviewing in-house staff. Mike Munchak, the Titans offensive line coach and Hall of Famer is currently being interviewed for the job. Offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger is also expected to be interviewed.
- The Cincinnati Bengals have fired their longtime offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski. Natt Eberflus has been hired.
- The Dallas Cowboys have hired Matt Eberflus as their linebacker coach.
- The Browns had hired former University of Miami offensive coordinator Mark Whipple as their quarterback coach.
- The Raiders have made longtime assistant Bob Wylie their new offensive line coach.
